October- the month of Birthdays

Not ours but Luke's friends
When we first moved here he made friends with 2 boys who both have birthdays in October. Since we decided to wait and have him start Kindergarten next year I was happy for him to have some friends who will also be older in the grade and were in his primary class. Then we moved (okay the stake had been rearranged anyway so we weren't in their ward anymore) and I was a little sad for him to not see those boys at least every week at church. We did still have play dates but they wouldn't be at the same school. Well, I need not have feared because our current ward also has 2 boys with birthdays in October. It just so happens that all three of them are also in the same preschool class (lucky since they were assigned a class time by lottery) and now they play together ALL the time. There is also one girl from our ward in their class so it is super fun for him to be making friends with the same kids he'll go to school with next year. To top it all off- they have also all been in gymnastics together (unplanned on my part). It is so nice to see Luke building relationships without Mom around.

With all these October birthday friends have come parties- lots and lots of parties. He had been to one no parent birthday party before this month and now he will have been to 4. He's loving it (and Andrew wants to join in the fun). We also have two friends in other states with birthdays in October- so October is a very busy friend birthday month! We are loving it.

Poor Andrew. It's like Ryleigh - Maggie is having a ton of friends over for her party, and Ryleigh can only think of 2 friends for HER party in December. Poor kiddo.
