The Beach

One thing I will say about our trip is it was a little chilly. Thursday and Friday were supposed to be the warmest- ie. upper sixties with sunshine- so we reserved those days as beach days. Thursday we went to the beach by the Oceanside Pier. There was a playground on the beach where Luke spent 95% of his time (we didn't have our swimming suits on anyway). Friday didn't turn out to be as warm as they said- we went to the beach anyway.

Rare sighting- Luke walking towards the water

Common sighting- Luke running AWAY from the water

Luke did enjoy climbing on the rocks!

What can we say? We didn't get a water kid- at least not a wave kid. I'm sure if he'd had an example to follow besides Daddy he might have been braver. We (Mom and Luke) did make sand castles (Dora, Boots, and Diego lived in them). Luke still liked to chase the birds (see Carlsbad post) but one bird got smart and would just walk into the waves and Luke wouldn't go near it. *Note- this was not a tall bird so you can imagine just how far in it had to go. Maybe next time we go to the BIG OCEAN Luke will go in it :-)

Those pictures look like they are exactly where Adam's family goes to the beach every year in Oceanside! It is so beautiful there.
